In the early 90’s Joel and Harvey Calcagno were witness to their brother Steve’s rise and fall. Steve was one of the greatest male models of his time, but the pressures of the business soon drove him to a snacking addiction that would destroy his career and nearly take his life.
His brothers painfully watched as he went from tall, dark, and handsome to pasty, pink, and pale. The Calacagno family admitted Steve to the hospital were he was diagnosed with the rare Acute Doritos Pigment Poisoning. His addiction to Doritos transformed him into the ugliest of all creatures, a ginger. Needless to say his life as a model was over, but his addiction wasn’t. Determined to save their brother, Joel and Harvey developed Dontritos. A combination of Civil War POW torture techniques and post-neo-Freudian psychology formed the basis of their Dontrito program. Steve’s recovery went flawlessly and he’s since joined the team.
Over the last ten years, the Calcagno brothers have spoke at over 7 middle schools and nearly 5 federal penitentiaries, and have changed dozens of lives with their patent-pending motivational program. The brothers are currently serving a 6-month suspension from the Amateur Motivational Speaker circuit after an altercation in a North Dakota school’s parking lot with the rival Phone Book Tearing to Keep Kids off Crack program.
